- What is Linchpin?
- A simple site with the tools you need to run a small business. I built it for a few friends and family who kept asking, then made it public. Turn on the pieces you need and skip the rest.
- Do I have to pay for everything?
- Nope. Each tool has its own monthly price: Invoicing $9, Scheduling $9, Inventory $7, Receipt & Invoice Capture $5, Contractor & 1099 $15. You only pay for the ones you turn on. Run 3 or more and you get 10% off, or 15% off with all 5.
- Do I need a card to start?
- Creating an account is free with no card. You add a card when you turn on a module.
- Does Linchpin file my taxes or 1099s?
- No. Linchpin doesn't file taxes or 1099s. The contractor tool keeps contractor info, W-9s, and payment records in one place so filing time hurts less. You or your tax person still do the filing.
- Can you give me tax advice?
- No. Ask a tax pro. We just keep your records organized.
- Does it track mileage?
- No. Linchpin doesn't track mileage.
- Is this like QuickBooks?
- Not really. QuickBooks is a full accounting system. Linchpin is a few simple tools for the work around the work, like invoices, scheduling, stock, receipts, and contractors.
- What if I get stuck?
- Email support@uselinchpin.com. A real person (me) writes back.
- Can I send quotes and take deposits?
- Yes. Send a quote, turn it into an invoice in one click, and collect a deposit on it.
- What happens to my data?
- It's stored in the US with Supabase. Card payments go through Stripe, and Linchpin never stores your card number.
- Can I get my data out?
- You can download inventory and receipts as a CSV, and receipt images as a ZIP. Want a full copy of everything? Email support@uselinchpin.com and you'll get it within 30 days.
- What happens if I cancel?
- The module stops at the end of the month you paid for. Your account and data stay put, so you can come back anytime.
- Can I delete my account?
- Yes. Email support@uselinchpin.com and it's done within 30 days. A few records, like payment records, we have to keep by law.
